I started working in fitness industry as an Exercise to Music Instructor in 2003 back in my home country, Latvia. I really enjoyed taking part in the classes and in my home town we only one instructor teaching 2 classes a week. So I decided to get qualified and teach classes myself. It was a great way to stay fit and share passion for exercise with others.
Later on I felt I needed to step forward and feed my hunger to know more about exercise, so I got my Gym Instructor qualification here in UK. This was a step closer to what I really always wanted to do and fulfil my ambition to be a Personal Training. I always continue to improve my knowledge and understanding of exercise to offer my clients a wide range of exercises.
I have been teaching various classes at this club for more than 6 years now, during this time I have gained my Spinning qualification and have now been teaching Spinning, Step and Body Conditioning classes. I have also taken part in running Boot-camps and other little projects.
I am looking to continue enhancing my qualifications, to improve me as a Personal Trainer.
Last year I took my own training to the next level, and competed in UKBFF Bikini division, which is growing in popularity in UK now. I will also be competing this year and my goal is to go through to finals and place in top 6 in UK. I have learnt a lot about nutrition and training from taking part in the competitions. It is probably the toughest thing I have ever done. I love an athlete’s lifestyle and can proudly apply to myself: ‘Practice what you preach!’. I test things on myself first before I suggest it to my clients.
